An old African proverb states, “Adversity is your best friend because it introduces you to yourself.”
Climbers will have plenty of introduction time as they climb Mount Kilimanjaro via one of the two less traveled routes on the mountain giving them the opportunity to fully experience Africa’s vast wilderness. The climb will take participants through rapidly changing environments while unveiling stunning views of east Africa’s mountains and plains.
This summer, a team of dedicated community leaders will set out to prove that any challenge can be met when you have the courage to face your fears and overcome adversity. On August 17, 2010, the group will begin their ascent up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, expecting to reach the summit later that week. The Klimb for Kids will be a fundraiser for the Kids Escaping Drugs Campaign and will be documented for a special to air sometime following the climb.
